Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT)
is a modern and highly effective treatment method: high-energy sound waves are introduced into the
painful areas of the body. With this innovative therapy approach, pathological alterations of tendons,
ligaments, capsules, muscles and bones can be eliminated systematically.
In the treatment session, shock waves are directed at the area of pain, where they cause a controlled
mechanical stimulus. Healing processes are caused in deeper tissue areas, just as after external injuries.
This results in increased blood circulation and the formation of blood vessels, so that new connective
tissue is generated. Degenerated tendon tissue is regenerated and tightened. The intense nature of the
stimulation also creates powerful pain inhibition, commonly resulting in immediate reduction of pain.
The beneficial effects of shock wave therapy are often experienced after only 1 or 2 treatments. The
therapy eliminates pain and restores full mobility, thus improving your quality of life.
Use shockwave therapy to treat chronic painful tendon conditions such as: Achilles tendonopathy,
patellar tendonopathy, plantar fasciitis, gluteal tendonopathy (hip bursitis), rotator cuff pain, tennis
elbow and golfer’s elbow.
Function of shcok wave therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy is a modality used for the treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal
conditions, primarily applied to chronic conditions, particularly those affecting medium to large sized
tendons and their insertions on bone such as:
Plantar Fasciitis
Achilles Tendonopathy
Retrocalcaneal Bursitis
Lateral Epicondylosis (Tennis Elbow)
Medial Epicondylosis(Golfer’s Elbow)
Calcific Tendonitis (supraspinatus tendon, etc.)
Patellar Tendinosis (Jumper’s Knee)
Morton’s Neuroma Chronic
Stress/Non-union Fractures
Shockwave for Cellulite Reduction Shockwave, or Acoustic Radial Wave Therapy works by stimulating the fat breakdown, collagen
synthesis, and lymphatic drainage. Our shockwave is delivered by placing a probe up against
the areas of cellulite, as it passes over the area it emits radial waves through the skin. Shock wave for Physiotherapy Shock wave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful areas and soft tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. This energy promotes healing,
regenerating and reparative processes. It's a unique, non-invasive solution for pain associated with the
muscul oskeletalsystem. Three to four treatments needed at weekly intervals. A therapy session only
takes approximately 10 minutes.
